Roy's role at Event Insurance
As one of our Underwriters, Roy works closely with both brokers and policyholders, helping customers find the right insurance cover for their events. His day-to-day role includes providing quotations, assessing new applications, calculating premiums and resolving policy queries by phone and email, ensuring clients receive knowledgeable, efficient support throughout the process.
With years of underwriting experience, Roy understands the importance of clear communication and helping organisers put the right protection in place before their event.
Roy's top tip for event organisers
“Don’t leave arranging your insurance until the last minute. If there’s a problem, we may not have enough time to resolve it before your event takes place.”
Outside of work
Outside of work, Roy enjoys precision rifle shooting and is a member of the Bournemouth Small Bore Rifle and Pistol Club. He competes in the Hampshire League in Benchrest shooting, where competitors aim to place a bullet through a target circle smaller than a 5p coin from 25 metres away. Following an impressive performance in the 2025/26 Winter competitions, Roy finished second in his division, earning a silver medal and promotion to a higher division.
